RedbikeBoy's Forum > Brighton Boys (Ship Street)

Hi all, I started as a messenger in 1976 and worked at Ship St in Brighton. The PHG's in charge were Reg Shearman and Brian Peacock, they were two of the best. Brian used to sell fruit and veg out of the Office window and us telegram boys used to make the fruit deliveries with the grams, quality.
Reg would book you with "get yer hat and coat on, yer goin out, and nip away smartly" then smash his withered hand on the table to remove the ash from the end of his fag.
They were great days, Dave Laycock, Dave Baffin, Greg Darby, Garry Sallis, Matty Day, Matty's wingman Chris, Dallas Foster, Dave Page, Martin Jennings, Joe Denyer, Dibbsy Bear, Kevin Ridpath, Gordon Coul, floppy Foreman, Trevor Redman, Andy Stanford, Dinger Bell, Peter Penfold, Trevor Holden, Kempy, all great lads and so many laughs. Thanks for the memories, I often think of the good times. Cheers to you all, Adam

In reply to Adam's comments, (Jack the Lad as he was known). They were fantastic times and I treasure them dearly. It would be great to get us all together sometime to meet up like Brighton Veterans do in the Ladies Mile. If anyone else is out there and would be interested put a thread on this page and I will try and organise something.
Best wishes to you all.

Andy (floppy) Foreman.
